• This item is described by Military Specification DOD-C-24556 (SH) metric. This specification covers fire resistant, shrink resistant, woven fiber berth curtains and associated fittings for shipboard use.
• Although developed primarily for berths, this specification can also be used for ports and full-length curtains for compartments. When used for full-length curtains, care should be taken to adequately support the track so that it will not deflect.
• Aluminum curtain track for top berth should be fastened to a 1″ X 1-½” steel tube securely fixed to the overhead ends and mid-span of the curtain track.
• Class 1 curtain provides a high rate of absorption for sound and light (minimum weight 210 grams). It offers the highest degree of privacy and should be specified whenever cost allows.
